let's hope it has built in wife, 4G, support MSN, Skype, able to stream Youtube 1080p HD video live, satallite radio, can attach a mouse/keyboard combo, ability to store and playback mp3, mp4, flv, avi, able to do DVD-rip on the go, with full access to porn sites.

A built-in wife eh? Would she have an automatic "allow lens purchases" function? I imagine this would eliminate approximately 40% of the gear-related jokes on this forum!

How about an automatic "PAYS FOR LENS purchases" function?

Some of you guys have low expectations.....

I come for the world of computers where things happen exponentially. Think game changer.

Re built in wife: I sure hope there are diff. setting with that.

Wouldn't a built in wife with settings be a game changer? ;)

What I would like to see, in no particular order:
Better/faster AF
30-33 MP's
5-6 FPS

Just my opinion, although I know that Canon will give us what they think will sell.

What I'd like to see, and nobody in this thread mentions, is live view that works promptly. From their first DSLR (alpha 350) sony allowed live view shooting with response time just as fast as through the VF. This is great for manual focusing/shooting as well as for candids. (They also had an articulated screen, which is helpful for both of these). I could have the camera hanging from a neck strap while I hold it in front of my stomach/chest. While walking around and talking to people, I could peek down at the screen and snap shots at people near me--friends at a barbecue, say--without them getting all self-conscious they were having their pictures taken. If you haven't used an articulated screen or instant live-view, it may not seem useful, but once you have it you'll find they can be very handy in the right situations...

I know this isn't exactly comparable to the 5D line, but it's a bit what I'm talking about saying Canon needs to produce a game changer.

I honestly think this doesn't have to be too complicated.

Personally, the 5D3 will be a winner if it has:

  • 19 point AF system or better with spot focusing enabled for all lenses.
  • Keep the MP count closer to 21 to 24MP, if that means better noise handling.
  • High ISO noise handling competitive to Nikon...i.e. D3s.
  • 5-7fps
  • Any incremental Video changes.
  • Improve on the already decent build.
Really, most of these are incremental updates. The only BIG update would be the AF system. They MUST do this...and if they keep the same sorry ass AF system or put in a 9 point one, that would be sad.

Because you know Nikon's going to come out with something pretty spectacular. I can tell you right now, I'd be jumping ship...again...if Canon drops the ball...again.
