I recently picked up an Elpro 1 and 2 at a decent price. For the American readers of this thread, a note: because they are double threaded, if you try to use them with the Lensmate adapters, the camera lens will hit at full zoom. I had a set of inexpensive Chinese adapters handy and they are just a tad longer so when using this set-up, there is no issue.

Here's one of my latest experiments. I'm still trying to get the focus perfect. I'm not sure what else I can do to improve. A flash might help.... the plan is for a bit later this year.

Well, if I were ever to guess what a Na'vi lady-part looked like...

Thanks =) Yes, I'm using the +5. Mine is 58mm though, so I don't have to use any step-up/down rings.

Here are a couple efforts from a nice spot this afternoon. Tons of these little red ones around (I'm no entomologist by any stretch of the imagination!) Fun to watch them go about their business even though they were very aware of me. It was as if a few were checking me out as much as I was them. These guys (and gals) certainly have more personality than a lot of other insects out there. I got a bunch of shots. Don't be surprised to see a few more from this shoot later. ;)

Reference to my post regarding Marumi 200 49mm. The web address Is for a well known UK photographic supplier who were advertising them for £19.99. They took my on line order but the next day emailed me to say that the item was no longer available. My apologies to anybody who may have contacted that supplier.

Makes me itch just looking at it.

Posting this from my Google+ account so I don't know if it will show up correctly for everyone.

Wonderful camera and great images, I have a IIIC which was bought new by an uncle just after the war from a shop in Oxford, I still have the camera and the receipt. The great DoF really works well with these sort of shots.

Thanks John,I bet thats a lovely camera ,knowing the history with it.
I have a wee collection of them,3 bodies, and a selection of lenses,a visoflex which as yuo no doubt know turns the camera into an 'SLR' of sorts, and the nooky close up attachment.
I love using them from time to time,& find it a good exercise it exposure 'guessing',juggling the aperture & shutter speed, mind you film can be very forgiving in this area!

Found this fella in the flower garden....Struggled with lighting and using the 430. Couldn't get it just right. Snapped a bunch of shots and didn't come away with much. But I do like the Mantis.
