sorry newbie quetions again
I’ve bean looking at the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 USM L IS to go with a 17-55 , 55-250 and a 6od
If you own this lens could you answer a few question for me .
This lens has bean around since 1998 when phone were the size of bricks , well close , has the lens and hence the electronics in side never bean up graded in the last 14 years ?
Can you even get the electronic parts from 14 years a go
Would ask if its going to be up graded soon but there are threads say announcing next month back in 2006 ……
Is this canons oldest zoom ?
Any problems with the 1st generation Image Stabilizing ?
Where is the air sucked in to the lens ?
I’m assuming the dust sucking is bit urban myth on newer copies …………any one experienced this ?
And dumd newbie question as a rule of thumb , focal length of 400 mm is a 50% crop of image taken at 200 mm ?
