All hand-held (centre spot focus, f8 - 11 ish)

Bought this lens used and am not sure if sharp enough - worth taking in for calibration?

...what were your shutter speed settings with these shots? from my short experience with this lens, I found that I needed to increase my iso a bit to get a higher shutter speed!!! also, maybe the monkeys were moving?

I agree -I was a bit in despair as I wasn't getting the results I usually got with the 100-400 which I have used a lot (BIF).

I have added shutter settings etc for all photos - for the last 3 both iso & shutter much higher & I think, getting better results.

I didn 't realise that it was so different from a 100-400 - there I commonly use shutter speed 1000+, but didn't realise I would also need that sort of speed for the apes.

I will got back again (alone ) & try again (I was with family this time so felt a bit under pressure to get shots & move on)

Hi Anna,

Put the lens on tripod, set ISO100, f/8-11, and shoot some house or building & see what happen.

Just notice my travel tripod moved during the shooting. I need a better travel tripod.
Just look at the light 'smear':

Thanks :) But it's more cityscape than landscape. So, just wait for the holiday and get a proper landscape shoots later :D

Just notice I turned the IS off this morning. Silly me.
Also, if I don't fully extend the last section of the tripod, my travel tripod should be steady enough.
Learn something new everyday ;)
