Thanks Speedygoo, your solution worked. It was a problem with Internet Explorer.

Is there a way to backup your settings before update or will I loose all my setting?

I hope Canon put in some 5D2 firmware improvement for audio recording, something along the lines of Magic Lantern. The noise floor level could be improved as demonstrated by ML by bypassing the noisy preamp.

What is the latest ML and where can I get it? I'd like to try it. Is it a firmware or just a hack?

My 7D is currently running 1.2.1 firmware. I see 1.2.5 has been released and then recalled. I haven't noticed anything wrong with my camera, should I even bother to mess with the firmware?

Recalled? I don't see a recall notice on the Canon UK website...Mine works fine with 1.2.5

All I can see on mine is the SDK. I searched around and found 1.2.5 and it won't even recognize it on my CF card.

i believe the recall IF at all was for a mere hours, cuz a proper upload was not had. i dont know why you decide to perpetuate a myth to the uneducated. 1.2.5 is and has been good to go.

Perpetuate a myth? Really? I was and still am having problems getting the firmware. I don't care if yours is working fine, mine isn't. If you don't have a solution or a suggestion to help me figure it out, don't bother posting.

Thanks for the link. It didn't work for me though. I'm a Marine currently deployed to Okinawa, Japan. That's probably why I am not able to view or download the update. Hopefully when I get back to the states I'll get it fixed.
