Canon Rumors just posted the S95 and SX30 successors may be announced in the 13-15 Sept 2011 time frame (if I read the implication of their post today correctly), but the G12 successor is MIA -- no idea for that one.

I just went to Fry's electronics today to see the S95 and the sign listing the price for it and info indicated it had been discontinued.

Maybe by Fry's, but Canon USA still lists it, as does B&H. Adorama shows onew of the S95 kits backordered but other S95 packages are available. Canon hasn't announced an obvious successor model yet.

In addition, the S95 listing on the Frys website says "while supplies last".

I'd like to see them have all the same features of the current S-95, but with a full-frame sensor.

And at a cheaper price.

With free SD card, carrying case, and a year of free Smugmug.

;)

Thank you. bw!

Agree!
And if it's anything less, I'm switching to Nikon. :)

Anyone think it'll be out by december? I'm looking for a compact, and don't really want to jump on the s95 just yet if something is coming within the year, as its not really that urgent anyway.

I'm in the exact same boat as you! I'm going to wait til about half way through Sept. before I buy. I'm also torn between the s95 and Oly xz-1.

At least now we know it won't be called 'S100',
as Nikon announced their new Coolpix S100.

if they ever put a full frame sensor in their point and shoot line, it would fundamentally destroy the 20d,30d,40d,50d,5d series. the 5d2, 7d, and 1d series would have their professional applications as still/movie/ sports, but the rest of the older generation cameras would drop like a rock. definitely not in canon's or any large camera manufacturer's itinerary.

and Canon already released a S100 in 2000

EDIT: I see its already been mentioned. Still, most people dont read whole threads these days so it can stay as a reminder.
