Posted a few weeks back about how my first wedding went
https://photography-on-the.net …p?p=12931966#post12931966

Anyway the B&G got to see the photos today and thankfully they were absolutely delighted with them. I had asked a neighbour, who happens to be a wedding photographer, for some advice and he said 'keep it simple'. So that is what I did. I know these aren't perfect but any comments, good or bad, would be greatly appreciated.

1 - The bride absolutely loved this one.

The last one bothers me because of the sinking couch cushion... the way it is lifting on the egde and then sinking in the middle makes it really unflattering to her, and gives off the impression of being much more overweight than she actually is (not to mention the pose and angle giving the impression of a double chin). If it was me taking the photo, I probably wouldn't have noticed it as I was shooting either, however on screen, it just makes the photo off.

The one where they're holding hands by the cake and she has what appears to be a knife in her hand is a bit bothersome. Mostly because of the dark shadow on the left side of the frame (Her right arm). Set up on that one was botched a bit but. I agree on the that last one too. Not a nice pose for her. But as far as the rest are concerned, Not bad for your first wedding!

Many thanks for all the comments and critiques. To be honest I never even noticed the cushion while taking it or even looking at it later lol, but point taken.

Hope it was just the shadow that bothers you and not the fact that she has a knife in her hand as it was one of the 'cutting of the cake' shots :)

Hmmm. It looks like they're just holding hands. i see the cake that they're supposedly cutting but in this shot it just looks like they're holding hands.

Fair enough, I can see what your saying - I didn't see it like that as I knew the knife was there lol. Looks like I still have a lot to learn :) They didn't want an album, just photos on a disk, but I did put them together a small photobook and this is how the cake section looked - hopefully that photo looks better when seen in context.

In context with the other cake photos I think it works. To me it looked like they were doing a hand pose but they probably will remember that you were getting a photo of them cutting the cake.

No problem. If you don't mind me asking, who are you using to do your books?
