Dirk, love the shot, as well as the one a few pages back. My sister retired a few years back and now spends a lot of time on "budget" cruises (she is constantly surfing the net for sale/discount cruises). She loves them, but the down side is she has become very...big. Beware of the constant buffet-style eating!

Whats the largest print you can get from this camera.

I mean the largest acceptable print I could get from the XTi was 16x20.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What's acceptable to you may not be to another or vice versa.

Both XTi and T2i are capable cameras and have the ability to produce amazing photographs. I don't know that you can compare the two in terms of the largest print. The T2i probably has the edge, but I'm not certain it would be very/too noticable.

A very good pixel peeper could probably tell the difference.

Nice shots Peter, love #3. You are going to wear that camera out, good for you! Work gets in my way these days so not getting much opportunity to take photos. But I finally got me a new flash, 430EX II, now comes the learning curve.

I'm sure of that but a client asked me if I can print a photo for her in 20x30

A photo of her being a portrait? ... humm... I would recommend you shoot with a 50mm @ F/5.6 100-200 ISO on a Tri-Pod for maximum sharpness. That would be equivalent to 80mm @F9 (DOF) on 35mm, which would be pretty optimal. (Just saying in comparison)

The T2i, if memory serves me, on the very best RAW setting will provide 54 X 36 images @ 100% size, so it appears 20 x 30 would a little more than half the maximum size.

If I could get the subject in really good lighting, with a 50mm lens and a tri-pod, I believe she would be satisfied with the posters.

Mind you, I've never printed posters before with photos I've taken with the T2i and a good lens, so what I've thown out there is just a gut feeling of what I would think would work. Poster size photos are very demanding on image sharpness and composition, so I wouldn't take that assignment lightly. What looks good in a 5 x 7 can definately look like crap poster size.

Good luck!

David
