Set color matrix 2 in camera. I also had a custom tone curve loaded though since the standard curve with matrix 2 produces pretty flat files.

I have and use Noise Ninja, but I tend to find that it can soften images more than I'd prefer. Typically, the 1D produces perfectly fine images so long as the exposure is correct. That is essentially true for any camera, though.

My example is a bit extreme, since it was an ISO 200 shot pushed several stops, so there is a distinct lack of detail. It was an excellent opportunity to show the banding effect, though, for some people who are just getting ahold of one of these cameras (or are thinking about it).

Noise reduction in LR3 works really well. Noticeable improvement from LR2.

I process my images via DPP and then work them individually through PSE9. I tried lightroom once, but it kept crashing, and I didn't like the way it wanted to organize and make a library of all my images. I might give it another shot, though, since I recently re-formatted and went from Vista to Win7.

My son is the blonde and this is his best buddy. What a pair. Let me know what you think of them. All shot with the 1d classic, Sigma 100-300mm f4, ISO 400.

They were a hoot on the beach!

keep an eye out in all the used locations (craigslist, POTN, ebay) if you're willing to dish out a couple hundred for a new/refurb etc, check adorama.

Adorama does carry a 3rd party charger, but it has pretty dismal reviews.

The chargers often sell for just as much as the camera does.
