windpig Chopped liver More info | Sep 02, 2011 15:40 | #3 I've got it. I think it's very underutilized on a crop body. Would you like to buy a vowel?

Sep 02, 2011 16:53 | #4 It is not the best choice for a crop. take a look at the 17-55is instead. you get IS, better range, excellent sharpness and cheaper lens. the 16-35 only has the advantage of being full frame... if you update in the very near future. Juan

I agree, look for the 10-22 for your 40d. If you think you might go full frame in the future go with the 17-40. http://www.jakegregoirephotography.com

If you like the focal range, the 17-55 or 17-50s are cheaper and will likely produce equal or better IQ. If you are looking for an ultrawide, the canon 10-22, tonkia 11-16, etc. are better alternatives.

Yeah, that's a lot of money to drop on a lens seeing action only on a crop body. My junk
