Hi people, is there anywhere in the UK, I can buy used lenses that have at least been checked over by a proffessional, with maybe a short guarantee?

Im after the 24 - 70 lens. I would rather not do the ebay route if possible.

Thanks in advance :)

Think you'll be pretty lucky to find one at a reasonable saving against new, if you find one at all - this is a popular lens. I'd take a deep breath and go for new. Had a quick trawl through Park Cameras, Dale (Leeds) and MPB and prices wouldn't tempt me. Ebay can be ok and certain camera shops also have Ebay shops - Camera Centre Cardiff for example, who I have bought a number of items from.

I have used them, several times, and they're excellent.

http://www.apertureuk.com/ (external link) are quite good. You really need to jump quick though because sort after items (like a 24-70) don't last long.

I have used aperture - v. happy;

Bought a used 100-400 off this forum- not too happy as it was front focussing; took it in to be calibrated and it turns out both it and my 7D were out (in opposite directions).

Just bought a used 28-300 off mifsuds - they won't let you actually buy online - they ring you up & talk you through the lens, then take payment over the phone.

Another vote for MPB. Used them twice - excellent service.
