There is a finger print on the focus distance thingy ma bob OP. Better clean that off, could ruin your photos.

That is exactly what is wrong with it, has a blemish!

If I was paying for a 'blem', and it was priced accordingly, that would be OK
But if I was paying the normal new price, I would have a new replacement by now, or a full refund.
