The IQ of that camera is very good - I wanted a super zoom camera that I could always carry in my pocket while hiking. There is one issue though - Canon cheaped out on the built quality of that camera. The metal surrounding the lens when the camera is closed is so thin that it bends easily. The result is that the lens cover will not retract 100% anymore. I had to use a knife while on hikes to bend the metal back in shape - my camera now looks like it has gone through a war zone. As long as you are OK with that or if you truly baby your cameras you will be very pleased with it.
