Does anyone know the part number for the plastic depth of Field cover? Mine has a crack in it...it's suprisingly fragile and I'd like to fix it. But there's little point dropping this into a Canon dealer for such a minor issue.

Here is my very first shot of a hummingbird. So tough to shoot! ISO3200 in early light. They are coming around our feeder every morning. I will have to develop a better plan for shooting them.

Logan..........every pore, hair, a pierced ear and even veining in the retina. Can't do much better than that. I like your composition too.

i can do that with my crappy 50mm f1.8, honestly. you cannot tell without 100 percent crops if the lens is truly good or not in the sense of putting it on a pedestal like you are, and remember the quick and easy sharpening tools in photoshop. hey just saying.

i have tack sharp point and shoot camera shots like the one above...so what...but when i zoom in then is when you can tell most of the time.

enough undue stroking ego's and let's cut to the nitty gritty of the lens please.

few people are providing 100% crops of pics with this lens...it's worthless to comment on it's quality otherwise. other lens threads do. i wonder why this one does not so much. for $2500 smackers, put up or shut up.
