Morning all. Off to continue our heritage open day exploration today. Yesterday I visited the almshouses in reading that were built in 1886 to home poor single working men. I've got some photos that I will add later. I'm planning to visit the Victorian outdoor swimming pool at kings meadow reading, which is derelict and closed to the public later today. I'm pretty sure that our urbanex crew have visited it already.

Obligatory animated .gif

That is awesome mate! I only removed it from my quote for jon :)

Try this next time you're creating an animation in photoshop (this is what you use right?)

Files > Scripts > Load files into Stack

You get a little dialogue that has the checkbox option 'Attempt to automatically align source images' once you've selected your images. It should help with the jumpiness of your gif (though you'll have to crop in slightly as there'll be missing edges).

Alternatively, if you have all the layers loaded up already you can just highlight them all and click Edit > Auto Align Layers

wow that's great - well done. it's horrid if you're at work and can't talk about it - that's what POTN SE is for  (or so I gather!) I trust the funds will all be put in a special fund for George and not spent on new lenses ;)

I'm packing for hols today, we're off to Norfolk for a week tomorrow. Home of the red and white stripey lighthouse in Happisburgh.

ETA: Rob that animated gif is cool. I was thinking of doing that with the "tails" shots I did the other day, must have a look at the software recommended above.

Ah thanks Kev - I was trying to find those features but gave up as I was rushing so I could go to sleep. I will redo it and reupload it for Jons delicate tummy. ;)

I only know because I was fighting for 3 hours with photoshop last night trying to make a cinemagraph. Round 2 is tonight, I'll get it sorted if it kills me.

Are you sure this hasn't been sitting on your hard drive for 8 months? ;)

As said on 500px, it's a great shot. I think a bit brighter along the bottom so you could really see their skates (to better identify with what you're looking at) might be an idea? There is the one very clear skate on the right, so maybe not...
