I was at the local mudflats when I spotted this fellow working his way along the waters edge. I originally thought it was a lesser yellowlegs, or maybe a solitary sandpiper, but upon closer inspection at home I now think it's something else...possibly a Pectoral?
Any help in finalizing the ID of this fellow would be greatly appreciated...

Posing...

My guess would be a juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper - nice find Mike! Are you seeing a lot of shorebirds coming through Sioux Lookout?

Thanks for the confirmation Jeff, a first for me!
I am not really seeing much come through, but I do most of my photography within the confines of town so I may just be missing the good spots. I took this guy just around the corner from my house...

You have just, in this set of outstanding photos, debugged 2 myths...that the 100--400 doesn't take crisp, clear shots, and that the 7D at ISO 1600 is unacceptably noisy. These are all grrrrrrreat (to quote a famous tiger) :).
