I just read that the President will be there among others and at least the site won't be open to the public. Thoughts? Worth going in to cover events outside the restricted area? Any idea how long it will be closed off?

Seems like the whole mosque controversy blew over since last year so I'm not sure if it will be as 'intense' as last year.

I have decided the trouble will not be worth the results. Access is not only going to be tough for us who live outside the city, but too much security and too many people.

I look forward to viewing other's work in the coming days.

just a few of my thoughts...

I will probably be staying on the upper west side. I had no problem parking my car within' a 10 minute walk from the site last year...

I know that driving is a problem even right now; I saw about 60 police cars obstructing traffic on the west side highway

I thought about it, briefly, but I don't really think there's any point in trying especially with the added security measures do to the threat.

Instead, I'm thinking about heading out around dinner time to Liberty State Park or some other spot with a view to take some shots of the tribute lights.
