Hopefully I have inserted these properly. The cat on the chair was my first photo ever. The other one was a few days down the road. Cats are always around and make good photo subjects atm. I am pretty excited to be entering the world of photography. I do not have photo shop yet, I am getting there though. I am sure I will have many question to come. I love the threads here and the information I have been able to find, seems like a great community.

Welcome to the forums.

Your images are not showing up because the system does not allow HTML. Go to the image in flickr, select 'share', select 'Grab the HTML/BBCode, click 'BBCode' then copy and past the link info. It will have [and] instead of the < and > that is used on HTML.

Welcome to the forums. Your first images are really quite nice, good color, great light, and appear to be tack sharp. I like the DOF you've achieved too. Very nice work.

Awesome way to begin your photographic journey. As stated above, great color and clarity without the use of Photoshop!

Well done. Be careful of backgrounds so that they don't detract from your 'target', or be too similar in color so that your 'target' gets lost. That black and white cat has beautiful markings so we will probably see more of her in the future.

Thanks everyone. I think I may have gotten a bit lucky with those photos ;) However with time I am sure I will keep getting better. I really do think the first shot was a lot to do with luck as it was my first shot on my 5d mark ever.

Agree with the other + comments. I would add that the catch light in the eyes is very nice.
