on this 100%crop of a lego shot i can see a slight purple colour at the right hand of the Lego. is it considered CA? i am newbie :confused:

CA is same for all 70-200 2.8 is usm ii copies?? or can differ like focusing and sharpness issues between copies.

one last question because i only got answer from nismo350 for my copy is it considered good copy of this lens? regarding sharpness and focusing. soz for asking in this thread but wanted your opinion as most of you own this lens..

George,

Looks like you have similar sharpness to my lens on a crop body as well. My 60d shots look very similar to yours. The sharpness takes quite a leap imo when you put the lens on a full frame body though.

Not sure about the technicalities of CA, but I'm sure it does vary from lens to lens. The CA your showing looks very minor though.

regarding CA ye i understand it differs from lens to lens regarding what elements are used to make each lens. but i thought it was only "element" dependant(regarding structure, not taking account focal length) so all copies from 70-200 2.8 mark 2 should behave same regarding CA? right?

any other guys willing to answer my questions? also regarding sharpness etc would be Greatly appreciated.

Here is my very first shot of a hummingbird. So tough to shoot! ISO3200 in early light. They are coming around our feeder every morning. I will have to develop a better plan for shooting them.
