We went to Garden of the Gods this morning to see if the Moon would line up with the Kissing Camel structure - sure enough it did as we moved around - thanks again to the TPE software -
It was interesting as there were a boat load of photographers from Photography convention that was being held in Colorado Springs - however none of them noticed the shot until we pointed it out to them - One guy even ask to borrow my 70-200 as they were all shooting with wide angle and short zooms - I lent it to him and he lent me his 16-35 - I have always wanted to try that - fair exchange -
here are some shots at different angles as you could move around just a few feet and get a whole different composition - hope you enjoy :D

with the borrowed 16-35 - gives you a since of size

all the rest with 70-200 is

Yep, #2 rocks!!!!! No pun intended. I loved visiting the Garden of the Gods when I was young. I hope to visit again with my daughter.

The second one is my favorite. At least on my ipad with a bad internet connection it looks like the pictures are all compressed too much. But anyway great shots

Wonderful alignments! #2 is my favorite as well, though I might like it even better if the moon weren't right in the center of the frame. I would probably go in for a crop on that one, but that's just me. These are all really well planned and exposed. Very well done!

#2 is pretty cool. How much running around did you have to do to get the right position?

bannedPermanent ban

The second and fourth are great because of the placing of the moon.

thanks all for the comments - glad you enjoyed -
FYI - if you look at the wide angle shot you can see the moon - so all you had to do was move back and forward to get the moon to fall in to the hole - but as it set more and more you went back further - my first shots the bush was covering the hole more had to wait and just move around looking all of the shots were take within 30' diameter location - my husband is real good about finding the way the moon will set or rise depending on the situation - he uses the TPE -
