5D mark II going on sale for $1999 in Canada! Maybe is a sign that Canon wants to clear them out and the 5D will be announced soon!

Still thinking about whether to pick it up or not, clearly it is a good price.

I think you should buy it, at least I am... and once the MK III comes out (if it does) I can always sell my MK II after a few months of the release, so I get a better price for the MK III.
You can´t go wrong with the 5D Mark II though, unless you´re a serious sport/wildlife photographer and need that extra speed.(Off-topic) Btw I saw on your signature that you have the 70-200 F/4 and the 24-70 2.8, I have a thread going right now, thinking which lense would go best with my 70-200 F/4: the 24-70 or 24-105, what would you say combines best? And why..?

It's been that price for a couple of weeks now (Henry's & Vistek). There's still no sign of the mk3 tho, so I wouldn't hold your breath.

I grabbed one .. because at that price it's a steal.

I believe this is the pricing is back to normal. I remembered the 5D Mark II was around that price around February this year; prior to the disaster.

Also, it is also the possibility that Japanese companies are pushing sales to achieve their 1st half financial yr target (October). I would assume so because, I'm working in a Japanese company myself...lol

If I buy and ship this to New York, USA, will I have to pay customs tax when they deliver it to me?

$1999 + tax. Don't forget that Canucks have to pay the feds and province (except oil rich Albertans). ;)

I just bought a 5D2 from Henry's for $2014 USD shipped. No extra tax or anything was collected.

You might be taxed at your end upon receiving package.
