Just gonna throw this out there---I loved #2. Kudos on experimenting with angles, esp. since, as we know, the getting ready photos can get boring/generic.
Thanks. Yeah, I think it's just a matter of taste too!

Have her turn her head to stretch that out. Plus I think you could have went over to the left more, and maybe stop it down a little to get more of her face in focus. *Wedding/Portraits Facebook Page*

As I mentioned before, this was just me trying different stuff out after getting the usual shot. I am still tweaking the angles, the bride's pose and what not. I'll eventually get "there". ultimachi wrote in post #13098967 ![]() 3. The baby picture is adorable and taking away from your subject. Crop it out. Please look at my subsequent posts where I corrected this. ultimachi wrote in post #13098967 ![]() 4. Looks like you were standing on this one. Kneel down, it will make them seem taller and more pronounced I was actually squatting. They were much taller than me and I'm pretty short, so this was definitely shot from a lower vantage point. What specifically do you see that is the problem? I'm trying to see it and I don't. They look fine, and relative to the guest, they look pretty tall. ultimachi wrote in post #13098967 ![]() 6. I think a tighter crop would work. You can do away with their legs since the groom is spread eagle and really detracts from the overall feel of the photo. Probably crop right above his knees but keep the hands in. I definitely get what you are saying. I'll politely disagree with you here. I like the photo the way it is. Already agreed on this in one of my previous post! ultimachi wrote in post #13098967 ![]() 8. The groom needs to lighten up. It looks like he is in a hostage situation and I can easily picture a sharp object in his right hand while he grips her with his left arm. Great shot here for sure, but the groom is killing it. Also agreed already. That was the mood. It was after midnight, I think, after a 15 hour day, and everyone was partied out and exhausted. Also, it didn't help that this was his regular expression. ultimachi wrote in post #13098967 ![]() I know it's tough. Just shot an engagement a couple weekends ago on the Santa Monica Pier at night. Full manual, flash settings, tungsten, red, yellow lighting, posing the couple, composition.....it's tough. Good job on these though Yeah, always learning. The only thing we can do is try to get better each time out. Thanks for the C & C. I'll keep them in mind next time...which is this Saturday.

Sep 27, 2011 22:31 | #21 Yes i like the angles cause it can get monotonous. I never, (well almost never!) straighten, correct physical features unless asked. Clients noticed it one time and weren't too warm and fuzzy about it... i agree with the last shot drawing the line. at some point it is what it is; If i was purchasing a large wallhanging i would pick the last one. tiny bit of flare above the grooms head but not critical. i think the makeup artist in the photo is better. edit looks like shes sticking herself IMHO. Excellent stuff though Beauty is in the eye of the checkbook holder...

That's the first thing I noticed. How gingerly she was walking and how frail she looked. I actually kind of like #3 simply b/c it was almost impossible to get her to smile, but there's a little bit of a smile going on there. ![]() +1 Very cool. They will really like that. Super work. Thanks for posting.

It wasn't too big a deal actually. zerovision wrote in post #13182904 ![]() +1 Very cool. They will really like that. Super work. Thanks for posting. Thanks. I agree. I recall it was difficult getting her to smile, so I was happy with that one.
