Anyone else feel like they hav too much glass?

nope, the five lenses i own were bought to suite my interests. each has it's place in my bag. if i had to pick one that i don't use as much as i thought i would it is the 50mm f/1.8. however like it's canon counterpart it is cheap as hell and not worth selling. plus every time i do use it i am happy with what it produces. it's just a bit of an odd focal lenght on a crop camera at the moment but may lend it self to other applications later on

Probably I have to many lenses - I didn´t know that I have already three Helios 44 lenses, after I bought the fourth one Only saw that in my Excel-lens-sheet.
I didn´t have used every lens - but many of them are not easy usable on a DSLR, like process lenses, or projection lenses. I need many lenses to have enough material for my tinker work.

Last week I uses a Zeiss Biotar 12 mm (I think for 16mm film camera) the first time after years - reversed as a micro photography lens.
Furthermore I am happy to have two copies of some lenses, to perform 1:1 comparison. For example I am working on a DIY apodisation filter - here it is very good to have two samples, because the filter is inside the lens near the iris.

yes I have 3 and thought about only 2 many times.

I envy those who complain they have too much glass. I'm looking at two more lenses and that should satisfy nearly all of my shooting needs. Only thing standing in the way is the ~$3,500 price tag for both of them

My collection has 18 now! Last month it was 21 and last year it was 2(28-135 and 50 1.4)

I dont think I would own more than 3 lenses

I don't make my money with my lenses, and I felt in the same boat as you. I had four and was frustrated thinking about which lens to use while out photoventuring. I decided to sell one and only use my two zooms while out and about, and keep the 50 1.4 at home for my products and portraits (the reason I needed a camera anyways).

I probably would have sold the 50 too, but I bought in April when lenses were STUPID expensive and I didn't know any better. I paid over 500 on amazon for that lens...and now its like 340. =/

Geez my stomach become upset reading this...really to much glass? Is there ever a time when you have to much glass.

Don't have enough at the moment. Find myself needing a wide angle and a macro. Other than that, I'll probably eventually replace my 55-250 with a 200L and call it a day.

Tokina 11-16, Canon 100L Macro, 200L will put me at my sweet spot.

I sold 2 lenses : 70-200/2.8 + 35L. The wallet is full and my gear is lighter. But I hesitate buying a 70-200 4 or 2.8ISII. Finally, I will have more but more expensive if going to the 2.8 !

Very happy with the 3 I have. Easy to carry all three of them everywhere, and they cover nearly everything I want to shoot. I can see possibly adding a macro, and a longer tele at some point...but no rush on those.

I have never felt I had enough glass. I have however felt stupid after letting some go over the years.

I have never felt that I have QUALITY glass until now with my 2 day old Canon EF 70-200MM f/2.8IS II
