I have purchased a lot of gear from Adorama and never been anything but thrilled with the service. I so understand that the OP did not have the same experience unfortunately. I do think it is unusual for any company to have somone of Helen's skill level to target and address service issues. It just doen't happen anymore. In fact it is one reason I continue to deal with Adorama as a regular customer! Who do you call at other businesses? While the original situation could not be fixed after the fact. The personal attacks on her did not deter her from staying in this thread and trying to do what she could. That is great service in my book!

Hey Helen, picked up a few B+W filters over at Adorama yesterday. Guess what, not only was I able to purchase what I needed at a fair price, I also received a half dozen pieces of sour candy to nibble on. Fast, friendly service as usual.

I too never ever had a problem with adorama, and I have order everything I bought from them online. I been down to both them & B&H and I can tell you they run a tight ship, and believe me that a lot of goods come and go everyday at their store, so much that online orders ship out of their NJ warehouse! even though I'm not far from them, I do take into consideration that "things happen" and 10 days cross country is playing it very close! but I would almost bet that the guest didn't file a complaint/or didn't sign the guest book because it didn't have a picture of them on it!! but thas just me!!

update on what's been happening since this thread has taken a life of it's own. A rep manager called me, we communicated. He apologized and gave me a very clear explanation of what might have happened, offered a refund. I am satisfy with how this issue was resolved.

Now THAT sounds more like the standard of customer care that Adorama has been working towards over the past 5 years.....

WOW

Having recently been a first time Adorama customer, I'll put in my 2 cents. My experience was FANTASTIC!

Bought a 5D2 kit-- everything was as expected. 2 weeks later (now), it's dropped $100, so I send them a email to see if they'll credit, not really expecting a damn thing. Heck, Amazon has stopped doing price protection long ago.

It took a few days, but I got a email saying they'll give me $100 store credit!

So yeah, I'm loving Adorama at the moment. Will not hesitate to shop with them over B&H (Amazon seems to have gotten less competitive over the years)

Found this thread searching for feedback on Adoramapix btw. Keep up the good work Helen

Came back into work this morning after the 3-day break to a gazillion emails; starting to flag a bit this pm, then I see this......

Thanks so much for the pick-me-up!

Sounds good that it was resolved.

I use AdoramaPix all the time, the quality of their prints is fantastic.

But I have one issue, and I hope Helen can address this. Currently there is a file size limit for TIFFs uploaded to your online website. That limit is 60MB. But you offer 24" 36" print size.

A 300 dpi TIFF at 24" x 36" is WELL OVER 60 MB. I don't want to convert to JPEG for my prints.

Can AdoramaPix just increase the file size to accommodate large prints? Your current limit at 60MB forces customers to use 150dpi resolution for a 24" x 36? print - in order to stay under 60MB.

Ummmmm....I've copied your query over to the Pix manager - but I wonder, could we discuss this by email: Helen@adorama.com (external link).

And would the mods please consider moving the posting to a more appropriate spot?

Is Mario still doing callbacks at Adorama? I'm usually a B&H guy, but years ago I ordered a used Canon 70-200 2.8IS from Adorama, as I'd heard good things about them.

At B&H when you order a lens, here's what happens: they ship it to you. Your package arrives, and you enjoy your new lens. At Adorama, here's what happened: Adorama called me the day after and left voicemails on my phone telling me that there was an issue with my order and that I needed to call them. When I called in, I was transferred to Mario, who's job it was to try to sell me filters and a warranty. It was that day that I decided to never use Adorama for a lens purchase again. Use your website to try to upsell me. Don't lie to me to entice me to contact you so that you can waste my time on a sales pitch.

If Mario is gone and you've haven't replaced him with some other customer-time-wasting jackalope, I'd probably be willing to give you guys a try again.

You probably mean Meyer. Yes, he IS still at Adorama, but since the arrival of a new Sales Manager 5 years ago that behaviour was completely outlawed. And not before time, either.
