The rumored price decrease has finally taken effect, huh. I've been thinking to hold off this one until it was coming in at or below $2000 from one of the reputable resellers.

If somebody called my home to try to alter my order - to sell me what I bought for more money, and hold bits and pieces of it hostage, they won't get my business.

^ ditto

Adorama has the 5D2 now with an extra battery, camera bag, and a 16gig sandisk card for $2400 shipped

And none of the uncertainty

Just searched in their site, and found the body with the one battery, charger and strap, etc.. for $2399. But didn't see a package for $2400 with the card, extra battery. Was it a special posted on their home page?

Ok I read through the reviews and most likely will never deal with this seller. I hate scams based on follow up emails urging one to call then the crap begins on up grades etc. Typical BS I can not figure out who gives them such high ratings when digging through you get a much clearer picture of the true company.

Sounds basically how Oil Can Henry's or Jiffy Lube work with oil changes. They offer a low price, and nobody is obligated to any more. Then as they do checks of other lubricant reservoirs, they offer add-ons like windshield wipers, differential changes, etc.. Which is a bit different in that the extras are often needed, whereas Ryther sounds like it's merely the offering of extra frills that can be accepted or rejected.

comes right up if you search canon 5d--- http://www.adorama.com/ICA5DM2E.html (external link)

Canon EOS-5D Mark II Digital SLR Camera Body Kit,- USA Warranty - with Sandisk 16GB Extreme Pro CF Memory Card, Slinger Camera Bag - Additional Canon LP-E6 Battery

same kit i got

and lemme tell you, the extras are damn near essential

they were stuff i definitely thought i would get down the line, but you need em from day 1 imo. (depending on what card you have now). my 2gig cards are nothing in the 5d2. and it eats through the battery pretty fast (this i was actually not expecting). i guess that HD video and 21MP stills don't come without a toll

The video must explain the extra battery need. I recall a review on the camera by Rockwell, who said that extra batteries were almost not needed. But it sounds like his use is almost all photographs.

Either way, I would want an extra battery. I keep 6 extra batteries for my T2i.

Sheesh, I just sold my 2.75 yr old 5D MK2 last week for $2100. Should I give the buyer a partial refund?

It is the seller choice to pay you $2100, why would you do a price match? If you are willing to do a refund, then he may just give you the camera back and go buy a brand new one....lol

I have read many bad reviews of Ryther Camera. They maybe selling legit cameras but imported ones. With that, you do not have warranty. It is worth buying from a reputable dealer.

That probably explains the long delivery. I bet they don't stock the cameras, rather wait for an order to come through and then order it themselves and then ship it to you.
