Looks like a bunch of people working with one guy eating cake...and a lady that's really got a craving for some of that cake, but knows she shouldn't because it'll go straight to her thighs. She will anyway though and just do an extra 30 minutes on the treadmill when she gets home tonight.

*edit - Clearly that last guy opened up a mis-labeled NSFW link.

CLEARLY you have very little class! I cannot believe you posted that! I hope you don't have to run into comments like that when you post your stuff!

I went to your flickr site (too curious) Nice pics. Keep'em coming.
This forum is not just about technical perfection of photography.

I can't believe you had the nerve to say something like that!

To the OP - don't pay attention to the above post, most people here are adequate enough to give you great critique and help you grow as a photographer (obviously not KFormus).

I was simply making a joke - I didn't make the post to be offensive.

There are jokes and then there are comments about people's weight. You never comment on girls weight and that girl was actually perfectly fine. Sorry OP, some people should not be allowed on the internet....

Well let me formally apologize to the OP and anyone else I offended. I did mean the post as a joke, because as you say the woman is clearly a fit attractive woman. So when I mentioned the cake I did not mean to present it in such a way that she had any issues; simply that may be something my wife or female friends may do the exact thing - indulge slightly on a treat and then 'make up for it' by exercising later.

To make some small amends, let me offer a sincere c&c on the images - of what I remember of them.

The image in question with the guy cutting the cake and the woman. Actually I think the technical aspects of this image (and all the images in the OP) are spot on. The lighting looks great! The exposure is perfect! My only critique on this image is the composition/crop. If you had shot a little farther to the left you could have his whole body in the picture and then cropped the woman out actually. Because she is slightly distracting in this image and takes away from the subject - the guy cutting the cake.

The only further c&c I can offer is that the images you chose to post did not depict a 'farewell party' besides the first cake-cutting one. The reason I say this is because the images in the POST were of people sitting at their desks or on their phones and they appeared to be just working a normal day. However, the quality of the images were pretty good technically speaking (lighting, sharpness).

That being said - I think you can improve on composition. If you can nail the composition of images, coupled with your technical abilities I think you'll be well on your way to being a great event photographer.

The only other aspect of event photography (not farewell parties so much, more weddings where you have to pose) is the creativity of the image. So when you do move into events where you have to pose people then creativity is going to be a big part of what attracts future clients.

Best of luck!

Thanks
Kelly
