So I'm at a NASCAR track/race and someone mentioned that there will be someone from Canon here today that will be testing the 500mm/600mm F/2.8

Will post pictures of the lens if I can =)

Considering that the longest Canon f/2.8 EOS-mount lens is 400mm, and that Canon's fastest 500mm and 600mm EOS lenses are f/4, it's going to be easy to spot an EOS f/2.8 lens in the 500mm-600mm range. Wouldn't be surprising if it looks a little like the 35-pound Sigma 200-500mm f/2.8 lens.

Subscribing and waiting for pictures. Of course, I'll never be able to afford one, but what an awesome lens it would be. :)

He just got his apertures confused guys lol, and judging by the 300 & 400, they'll probably chop off a couple of lbs/kgs on each one for handheld goodness.

Oh to dream.

No problem. :)

I'll be happy if I would own just ONE of those in my lifetime. (Except the 200-400...too slow for my liking.)

She said 2.8 "the other photographer" I have not seen Canon yet. Granted, todays race are the noobs. Tomorrow is the sprint cup. If they are coming out, it will be tomorrow.

I will keep you updated

there's no such lens...and certainly not a MK II...cause there'd have to be a mk I for that...it's probably the MK II versions of the 500f4, and 600f4...

just for fun...using the difference between the 300f4IS to the 300f2.8IS...the lenses would be 20, and 26lbs...:)
