I think it is a great buy. You are getting almost all the usability of a 580EX II, for less than 1/3 the price.

$150 vs $450

Once my next paycheck comes in, I'm buying two of these things. You really can't beat the features for the price offerings.

It's available in Canada; I have one on order. Go to ebay.ca and do a search and it will pop up. Or search for Canon 580EX and you'll find it. No idea yet how good it is. The seller is in Brampton, Ontario. Price: $212Can.

Has anyone used these with the new Pocketwizards Mini and Flex systems?

The Canadian seller has it listed today for $221.56 CAD and you can buy it from a Hong Kong seller for $157.56 CAD. (fluctuating CAD - USD) http://www.ebay.ca …n=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282 (external link)

I think I would rather save the $64 and get it from Hong Kong.

The seller quotes:

True Canadian Seller - Fast handling and Shipping!
Tax Included! No Cross border brokerage Fee!

I have ordered lots of ebay stuff from Hong Kong and have never had to pay taxes or brokerage. The USA is different though. I often get dinged for 13% sales tax from Canada Post.

Can anyone speak to the overall reliability of the YN565. I know it's only been out in the market for only a month or so, but it seemed with earlier YN's, the reliability was pretty spotty. Not hearing many issues with the 565.
I'm seriously thinking about buying this, but am a little concerned about having a reliable flash, as I have an evening event coming up next month, and would hate to be in a lurch with a flash that has issues. Should I just go with a 430EXII instead? Any thoughts, musings are helpful.

I am not having issues with 468, 560 and now not with the 565EX. May be that some people are out of luck but so far everything went quite well for me.

What's the usual turnaround time for getting a YN565 from Photogadget or Yongnuo on ebay?
