FA 18 Hornet Shockwave!

This was shot today during the 2011 Fleet Week held over San Francisco Bay. I shot this using a Canon 1D Mark IV with a Canon 600mm 4.0 lens. I cleaned up the image in PD5 to take the haze out of the sky. I know this is not really a motorsports image but at almost Mach One it is pretty darn close. There was also a Stealth Bomber that flew a few laps so I included the image here.

very nice. I have never seen the stealth plane (I think it's F117) during the fleet week before, a good reason to watch the next one.

the F117 has been retired unfortunately.

That's a pic of the B-2; the F-117 is the smaller, fighter plane.

Hell of a catch on that shock disc there!
