Hello guys, ordered 70-200 II a couple of days back and it will be delivered tomorrow. I'm so excited about this new addition. I have been saving for this lens for quite some time and was able to pull the trigger at last. Reading the reviews and experiences with this amazing lens I couldn't wait any longer.

Is there anything I need to look at once I receive it? Quality control seems to be top notch for this lens. I rarely see any bad experiences/copies. But since there is a slight possibility, I want to make sure I'm receiving a good copy. I'm a beginner and cannot figure it out myself . And if somebody in Akron/Cleveland area can help me I would really appreciate it. I'm willing to meet at a place of your choice. I will bring my camera and the lens and you can run some quick tests.

Please let me know. Thanks again and this site is nothing short of Mecca for photographers (at least beginners;))

You will love it - I am pretty amazed - check out thisthread I made messing with the IS.

I've only had mine for two days which is basically like 1 hour after work... but I am loving it

Don't sweat it, I have read every review online, all of the thread here, almost made it all the way through the sample gallery. But one thing is for certain, you will still be impressed - I was soooo close to buying the IS I, but am pretty amazed.

I took some pictures of my godson that are amazing, but am still trying to get my sister-in law to let me post them. Tack sharp, handheld at super slow SS's.

You will receive a good copy. I wouldn't read too much into the good copy/bad copy when it comes to Canon lenses. I've owned around 20 Canon lenses and I never received a "bad copy".

I would probably lick one if I were getting one today. I've for sure licked worse.

I think we all do that. I've looked at about every image in all the sample threads

I don't love this picture, but I DO love that it was handheld at 1/10 of a second

Congrats! i had my doubts coming from primes but it's honestly the closest to a prime that I think a zoom can get. Well worth the price and I'm very happy with mine.
