Interesting. Were those charges moving that unit around?

Nah, just the miserably short wire I had to deal with. It's only about 30kV. I've managed to squeeze some more umph out of it now, that was while it was running a 9v battery, I've now rigged up a 12v battery out of D-Cells. With that I can get a stable arc at around 1/2 inch, and it's completely silent. And a bit spooky how silent it is.

I have a adjustable spanner like the one you have on the table, it don't grip the nuts to tight does it :-)

So, is that what you folks are calling those these days? Back in my day we called'em widgets, and we LIKED IT!

Pretty fall colors, we are reaching peak around here and I am trying to arrange a trip on Sunday for me and the kids to see some nice sights. I have an aunt who lives about an hour north of me, so we are going to head in her direction for pumpkin picking and visit with her for lunch and what not. She is a lot of fun, my mom's only living sibling and just turned 87. She's always been very active and independent, but just recently was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and is now house bound and on oxygen and really pissed off about it!! I try to get the kids up to see her as often as I can, it is always more fun to have an activity associated with it and they share their excitement with her and tell her all about it when we get to her house.

Sounds like a good time for all of you Crissa

Telecommuting today; it stopped raining just as I got through, so the dogs and I saw this as we went for our late afternoon walk:

Went to our favourite restaurant last night. Outstanding food and "More views than a politician, and much better company"

Of course, today's rain took out a lot of fall colours, so I'm glad I caught these yesterday afternoon:

Part of what we love about here. The summertime highs in the low 80s is another part.

Lovely colours, Jon.
We tend to get mostly yellows around here with the trees. The bushes light up all the various colours though.

Nice photos, Jon. Sounds like great weather, BUT don't you have that yucky humidity thing?
