As Lucy said to Ricky: Splain how they get the mirror to move fast enough and the AF, which is already questionable, to keep up with anything faster than 10 fps? And who needs it? If you can't get the shot at 10fps, you need video.

Also, I love those who don't ponder and guess, but adamantly state it won't be more than a certain price. Uh, have you looked at the OUTRAGEOUS pricing of the new lenses?

Both. Australia is two hours ahead of Japan -- international dateline is just before Hawaii. It's 9:45 AM in Singapore now, where the thing supposedly is, so I would expect another couple of hours *if* it's going to be announced.

I'm still waiting for someone (in Singlish, of course) to say "SUCKAS!" and bust out the 5d3.

The announcement is in Singapore according to the CR guy and yes, it is already Oct. 18 local time there.

I think what ever canon releases I will be happy 18mp 36mp as long as it focus right. One thing is for sure Canon will not please every one luckily the consumer can switch to another brand if he is unhappy with Canon.

Supposed BETTER dynamic range than the 1Ds Mk III!

FULL FRAME for landscape, nature, macro, portrait, wedding photographers etc.

12-14 FPS for Sports, Wildlife, BIF photographers!

1 series durability, reliability, AF, sealing etc!

LOW NOISE expected.

Likely great high ISO. (Though to me I couldn't care less)

What more do you want?

Even a $6,000 price tag to me sounds like a steal.

The current 1Ds III focus is always dead on and I know that the next FF will be just as good or better.

Past experience has been 12 a.m Eastern Time, not 12 a.m. local-wherever-in-Asia-they're-announcing-it-from time. So hopefully in about an hour and a half we'll all know.
