Specs are fantastic, hopefully 5D III will be somewhat similar (stripped down of course).

I think so. Now I can get rid of my 1Ds III. ;)

Nikon AF has some quirks too and at times I feel I want to throw it to the dumpster.

1Ds AF destroys any non 1D canon body i've used.... but Nikon AF on even lesser bodies is much more accurate in my use... and it wont cost me 7K.

Nikon/Fuji.
Gear is important but skills are very important :)

I've shot Nikon too and it has it's quirks too. That doesn't mean it's greener on the other side. For my own personal reasons, Canon works for me and Nikon works for you. ;)

Im a Canon shooter. RIght now Im vested in Canon, so I was hoping for more (in the short-term). I do alot of video which is why I switched (from Nikon).

But the first Nikon body that produce a high bit-rate video i'll be going back - because their bodies are better at this point in time (stills-wise). And with the D800 on the horizon its only getting better to be a Nikon shooter.

It's enough of an upgrade to make me consider selling my MkIII.

We'll just see how the early adopters get on.

Yup, the 5d will go, the 1d III will be backup and 1D X will become my primary body. Purchase scheduled for Oct 2012.

And yes, I'm one of those "rich amateurs" everybody loves to hate.

Looks like a nice camera, but all the new features would give me great pause - I'd rather wait a few months after the camera is out and see what issues might crop up with it.

Of course, I don't have the money to upgrade anyway (heck, using 5Dc!), but looks like a nice camera for many. The hard core landscapers and sports shooters seem a bit disappointed, though, so it'll be interesting to see how this camera is received in the overall market.

Looks like they tried to please everyone at once, but I'm not sure it's going to pan out ilke that.

I would love to but the price tag hurts!

However, the release date is still far away. I got plenty of time to save up. :D
