By the way I am using Mraw on my 60D.

Have you tried it in RAW?

OK. With the recent announcement of the 1Dx and it's ability to automatically split video files @4GB, do you think the 60D will ever get this added via firmware update?

Does anyone see noise at iso 100 on their 60D? I tend to see noise at times and I am not sure why.

No noise here. I shoot in RAW all the time tho..

Hey thanks! Well thanks to both who have commented on these pics. Here is the pic my friend was working on when I shot that. Stole it from Google+ so it might look a little funky.

Nice colors! Wish we had better ones around here. Just brown...

MRaw does not reduce the noise level like one would expect when downsizing an image, it retains the same amount of noise.

Shoot full size RAW, apply NR and then downsize. That will yield the better results.

Noise at 100 ISO is a compromise to allow us such low noise at higher ISO.

BTW, I find Adobe PS noise reduction better than DPP NR.

Never going to happen, in my opinion. Has Canon ever added a significant feature through a firmware update? I doubt it. Also, the 1D X has [will have] 2 Digic 5+ and 1 Digic 4 processors, vs the 60D's single Digic 4. It probably takes multiple processors to do something like that (switch files without dropping a frame).

It says you live in Seattle, WA. That's one of the most colorful states in America, let alone, the entire world.

...I am baffled by your comment.

EDIT: In fact, I can't think of any other place in America, let alone Europe as a whole that has a place with more varied scenery? I've been all over the world and nothing compares to Washington State when it comes to variety. Massive oceans, beaches, desert landscape for miles and miles like something out of Africa, massive forests, mountain peaks with snow, rain forests (literally, legit rain forests, the only one in America) with blossoming greens, purples, blues and whites....

Brown, ironically, is one of the very least colors I see here. Move to Texas or someplace down south if you think Brown is a predominant Washington color....

You'll be shocked. <3

Thank you very much for your reply. I honestly thought that the lowering the mp count would reduce noise. I use low NR in camera, if I use higher NR would that make much of a difference or should I just use Lightroom or PS for NR reduction?

I was talking more about the fall colors on trees. Western Washington isn't that great in that regard. But, yes, I have traveled all over the world and this area is still one of the top scenic areas out there.

Use either LR or PS. I think they may be using the same code systems for each program's NR, as I didn't see too much difference from LR3 trial and CS5 trial.
