Sigma EX lenses come with a 4-year warranty, correct?

I think my 50/1.4 is about to take a ride to a Sigma facility... :(
It has quit focusing to MFD... like something is blocking it from going all the way down. :not happy:

Used a PC for years, custom built ones. Bought my first mac a month ago... Haven't touched my PC since.

In fact, I did once and remembered right away why I wasn't using it anymore. It's incredible how PC collect a crapload of stuff over months. Let alone years.

It's been a great time Bill, but I'm now on Steve's side.

;)

I started using Mac in 1994 with Mac Plus, the LCs, the Quadra, the power pcs and so and I never turn back. The only reason i have a custom built pc at home is for my son's games.

Most converts never turn back.

Steve jobs don't want crappy hardwares and softwares to be incorporated in Macs. that's just me.

Actually, my crappy pc hardware runs the mac OS just fine because they use the same hardware. I prefer windows though. Just thought I'd give another opinion as PC's always seem to get beat up by Mac users. I just don't understand why people can't just use a product without putting another down. ;)

Lol, too true. I kind of see it like Nikon vs. Canon... where the Nikon is the PC, of course. ;)

Honestly, I have nothing against PC's and I may convert back some day if Macs become annoying again. (I hated os9, drove me nuts) for now I'm pretty happy with Macs. I think it's also the ecosystem of it that really draws me in... the way my Mac, iPhone and iPad all work together so well. Before anybody attacks me, I know you can do that on the PC side, but it just seems like comparing a Camry to a BMW... The design is so much nicer even if it is yuppy and trendy, and even if people think I'm a schmuck for paying more.

Sorry.... I love my 60D!

You mean it's incredible how you put a crapload of stuff on it over months?

:D

I've got a Windows 2003 server sitting in a closet...Pretty much only a file server at this point, but I used the crap out of it daily for 5 years or so...It's still on the very first OS install, never had a virus, never re-installed, never broke. I probably reboot it about once every 3 or 4 months.

My wife's PC, on the other hand...Collects crap like a lint screen. "YES I WOULD LIKE ANOTHER COUPON BAR PLEASE!"

*facepalm*

:D

I simply don't care for the interface on Mac. Nothing wrong with them...Might have something to do with my former job as a Windows SA and my strong knowledge of all things Windoze:lol:

We don't need to get into a PC vs Mac debate in the 60D thread, do we?

I think anyone who is honest will admit you can do pretty much anything you need if you buy a good system with either OS on it.

Although you can get a lot more bang for the buck on PC. SUprised the HP employee didn't do the math with his company's products.

For $1700 you get a 27" Imac, which comes with an i5, 4GB RAM, 1TB HD, Radeon 6770/512MB

For the same price at HP, you get a new SandyBridge i7, 8GB RAM, 1.5TB HD, Radeon 6850/1GB and two 27" monitors.

And of course those of us that know how can build our own PC for probably 2/3 of that price. I like Mac, but I also like PC and I'm a cheap SOB so the PC always wins!

+1

Been using a Macbook Pro for two years now, still haven't decided what my next computer will be - might be a Mac just for the sake of continuity, but honestly when well taken care of PCs cost less for more power and the OS/professional programs are more geared to be productive and efficient (excluding media stuff).

By the way, anyone know why my EXIF info isn't embedded in the photos here? I'm linking from Flickr and I have EXIF enabled

Steve was a borderline fascist for nearly his entire career in regards to freedom and functionality of Mac products. From a programming perspective it's absolutely incredible how 'isolated' Steve allowed the Mac island to become. Lately, attempts have been made to rebuild burnt bridges and move back into the mainstream of software and hardware....But it's not fast enough.

Uh Wow! So by keeping a homogenous OS and setting down standards for programmers to follow is borderline fascist eh? I had to laugh back in 95 when Microsoft was singing the praises about how Windows 95 was now "plug and play" HA! What joke that was. Mac had been plug and play for over 10 years by that time. As far as Vista being any kind of quality OS, it's a wonder that MS is still in business after that debacle.

I think Apple is doing quite well, the Mac share is up over 25% over a year ago while windows pc's are sinking faster than the Titanic. Why do you think HP wants to jettison pc's? Certainly because their not making boatloads of money.

It seems that most of the folks who defend pc's so vehemently are the ones who like to tinker with them. Most of us just want a computer that works, all the time. You don't get that with windows.
And now on with the show......
