Canon 50mm 1.8 metal mount

Does the original 50mm 1.8 have rounder aperture blades then the mk2? I just shot with it and I noticed the bokeh was a lot better!

I don't think so. I've had both and mine are exactly the same. The insides are supposed to be the same, only difference is one is metal.

no...it's the same...maybe you shot wide open in which case the out of focus highlights are a circle and not a pentagon
