My problems are with the sync connector, its not as tight anymore, its alot looser sometimes have to wiggle it around when its in for it to connect sometimes it wont trigger at all.

Best of lucks with your returns ClearNet, sounds like a bad batch, nothing to really worry about.

I may take mine apart... again... and see if i can do something about the sync.

Hey Frank, thank for the info, i am also curious about the specific ring, from your description it sounds like a normal speedring not an indirect one.

Feel free to call me Case.

I have a D-Lite 4 it, and while it may not have fantastic build quality, I've been very happy using it on location and as a spare in the studio. Mechanically and electrically it's performed very well. I don't imagine it would do well as a primary tool on location, being used on a daily basis but it's been doing a great job for me and I have no complaints.

I've had no issues with my DLite4 so far. The feel of it isn't bad, especially considering the cost. It certainly performs.

I like my D-Lite 4 it just as much as you do. It's certainly very lightweight and small, which makes for little luggage to carry.

Yup. When I know that 400 Watt seconds will do the job and I'm not using a large modifier, I go for the D-Lite 4 it.

Hey Everyone,

Some good news to report, after issue after issue with my Einstein's I, as well as my studio partners have decided to switch to Elinchrom. We will be getting 6 600RX's as well as 2 1200 RXs for our location work. We will be using the pocketwizard system with it in order to use our speedlights effectively with them as well. We will be getting the 53" Octa and the 39" Deep Octa. One question for you guys, which beauty dish would you recommend getting? Open to any suggestions on that issue.

Dave

Sorry the Einstein's didn't work out for you, Dave, but you should be very happy with Elinchrom RX's.

As Mike said, either the Kacey or Mola dishes are the ones to look at.

I've got the Kacey dish. Very pleased with the build quality and the light it produces as well. Here's a quick edit of a shot I took tonight with it (and the DLite4 it... :-) )

Sorry to hear about your prior troubles, but congrats on the Eli gear! I agree with the others that the Mola or Kacey is a great beauty dish. The Mola has excellent options for central deflectors, but the Kacey will be lighter and more portable for location work. Either will serve you well!
