I'm wondering what is better for wide angle landscapes, night street photography, and also indoor night (restaurant, possibly clubs, etc.) shots. I'm going to Taiwan in February so I still have time, but I am highly considering these for now.
I have a 5D and a 50 1.8 Mk i, which is amazingly excellent in low light (just upgraded from a 40D and Sigma 30).
I've been reading a lot of reviews for both. The 35 seems good since it is cheap but still sharp and fast but the 28 has USM and is even wider.
I want something that produces good bokeh and is sharp in low light in general, being wide would help since I do not know the limit of buildings I would be in. I considered the 28 1.8 when I was considering the Sigma 30, but that was when I had a crop, and the Sigma won hands down. If it didn't vignette on my 5D, I would've definitely kept it.
Overall, I am mixed about the 28 since I've seen so many varied good reviews and bad reviews about it. The 35 being an older design, and having a longer reach is what makes me less consider it.
Thoughts? I guess like I stated, wide angle is important and so is IQ/Bokeh. I don't mind paying more for the 28 if it's something truly worth a consideration either.
