Hi guys, Im new here and I am facing this situation.
I am very tempted by the 5DII as it has a 300$ rebate here in Canada. I actually have a Canon 7D and I am worried if I was better keep my 7D and add a 5Dc or simply grab a new 5DII ? I have a 24-70 2.8L and 85f1.8 lens.

Depends on what you shoot and how you go about it...

Welcome BTW :)

It's all up to you and your needs.

I had a 5DII, added a 7D, sold the 7D and bought a second 5DII.

It all depends on what you shoot, but I will say this. The 7D has a better AF system in it than the 5D2 IMHO. This is why I will be making the leap to a 1DX in March when it's released. I'll still keep my 5D2 as I love full frame. I like the 7D only for AF, but not a fan of the crop factor.

Digital: Canon 5D2,5Dc,40D
Film: Yashica FX-2
Lenses: Canon 35L, 50 1.4, 85 1.8, and Canon 135L

I use a 7D AND a 1Ds1.

The best thing about the 1Ds1 is it is not a 5D. :)

isn't the 1DX full frame also?

I mainly shoot portraits and landscape, I actually don't really use the 8 fps shutter burst as I dont really shoot sports oftenly. I do like to make some movie with my kids so thats why I was thinking about keeping the 7D and adding the 5Dc...

portraits and landscape...

5Dii >>>>>> 7D

With your lenses, the 5Dii will really shine.

Portraits, landscapes and movies = 5D2

I don't see how the crop and AF of the 7D will be of much benefit here.
