Yeah, just tried this on my Mac running Parallels. It picked up the camera, failed the first test and then locked up on the 2nd. Had to pull the battery and ensure that 'mirror lock up' was disabled. Back to normal, but I think I'll wait until there's been more testing using this in a vm.

Film, suckers.

No end to my grief.....

On my second 5DII. The 85/1.8 calibrated. Changed to the 135L. Shut down program, reconnected 5DII, started the software. Lens is on AF, Shutter on 1/2 press. Just tried it and it focuses.

Setting up camera...
Running preliminary test...
The ideal calibration distance is around 50x the focal length of the lens (6.8m)
The current setup appears to be around 4.2m away from the target
Analysing Image: EV=5.8, Tv=1/15s, Av=f/2.0 Target position verified OK
Approximate distance to target is 4.2m
Analysing Image: EV=5.8, Tv=1/15s, Av=f/2.0 Target position verified OK
Approximate distance to target is 4.2m
It appears that the lens if not focussing. Check that you are not in Manual Focus mode and that focus is activated by a half-press of the shutter button
Camera settings restored
Test aborted

Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Just installed and ran through this (glad I have an old Windows based laptop kicking around)

Worked beautifully on my 17-40L (even had the same values on both ends of the zoom)
Ended up very close to what I had calibrated manually, but sure is a heck of a lot faster and easier.

Great piece of work!

You should give the lens info it might help. What do you mean " were live again"?

Got the camera to work again, and the software to recognize it.

Anyway, there seems to be communication issues with the software in certain situations. Happened with both 5DII's. I never did get the 135L to work with the software on my second 5DII. Always came back thinking the lens was not on AF or focusing was not on the shutter release. I gave up.

That's what I was getting with the Tamron and the 10-22 on my 7D. Couldn't figure out why it would keep determining that the lens wasn't focusing since it works fine by hand.

Ya, but it worked on one 5DII and not the other.

Anyway, I am done, for now. The software holds a lot of promise but it's still a little too rough around the edges, imo.

x_tan,

so.. wait, you didnt have any issues with your camera before you used the software.. but after trying to use the software with your 5DM2 and your 24L, you now get an Error 70 on your body with any/all lenses?

Would it be correct to say that you started having issues after using the software?

1st time my 5D2 makes its way to Canon.

Anyway, as long as I can get it back before Xmas, I'm happy.

Hi all

I'm back after a nice weekend trip to Dublin to run the marathon :) Once I've recovered I'll be back to address the issues that have been raised.

I've done about 8 half-marathons, and work for a company that shoots marathons and such.

Congrats!!

ran once in bedroom... poor lighting...
2nd set of tests in kitchen... great lighting...
