So, I can't draw to save my life...sort of why I bought a camera, but short of writing paragraphs of details about those pictures in my head of ideas for future shoots, how do I get them down on something concrete? Do I just learn how to draw?

You can always use shapes (squares, triangles, circles, and lines) of various sizes to get a rough estimation of what you want.

If I have huge ideas that take some planning then I usually sketch them out. Now, I cant draw either but simple enough shapes with tiny labels are all that I need to make sure that I remember the ideas running through my head. I bought a moleskin sketch book from B&N and use it to keep track of my ideas. Its a pretty simple process.

You dont need to create ridiculously detailed images that people enjoy; you just need to make sure you dont forget your designs.

See if your library has this book. Learning some drawing skill is supposed to help photography skills.
