I tried the magic lantern deal and got it to work and all but the video quality looks terrible. Way too noisy even at ISO 200 with my Tamron 17-50 at 2.8 or maybe im just doing something wrong.

so, i guess ill just have to wait till i can get my hands on a 7d.

here is a screen shot of how the video is coming out. This is with my sigma 8-16 lens but the results are the same regardless

Personally...I don't have an SLR for video...I have a video camera for that...if my SLR did video, my wife would always have it! :)

Just upgraded from an Xsi (had a 40D that I wore out in the past). So stoked!

Just upgraded to a 50D with 35k clicks on it. Kinda skeptic about the amount on it. It looks very clean cosmetically except for the rings at the bottom (tripod mount). Im super excited about it and it seems to take some good pics even with 35k on it. What do you guys think. These were just test photos.

Shot straight into a light, need to do it at f/11 and see what happens. Looks clean though...to me anyways. Good pickup?

Has anyone in here used MA on a 50mm 1.4? What was your procedure? I just want to play with the functionality, I don't think my 50mm needs it but who knows. Part of me wants to upgrade to a Sigmalux and I almost garuntee I'll need the MA function.

You could try my high tech method. Find someone that wears thin, wire framed glasses. Have them sit very still and shoot portraits of them focusing on the bridge of their nose (glasses frame). View full size on the LCD and adjust as required. It should be noted that a high enough shutter speed to freeze movement is required. Use the center AF point for precise control.

Took me about 2 minutes to micro adjust my 17-55IS and its a freakin razor at f/2.8 now. ;)

I am having some issues with my 50D tracking focus. I shoot a lot of youth soccer and it seems that when a player is running straight at me and I shoot a burst several of the images are eiter front or back focused. I shoot with a canon 200 f2.8 prime lens and the problem really gets bad at longer distances.
should i send the camera body to canon to get it checked or is this just a limitation of the AF system in this body?

Shameless bump:

Can anyone confirm that 50D's micro-adjustment works with non-Canon lenses?
Specifically,with Tamron 17-50 2.8 non-VC and 28-75 2.8?
TIA!

...anyone,please?
I'm currently looking for a 50D body as a backup as well as to give a good use to my Tammies but no potential seller in my area showed any disposition to let me try the AF microadjustment (understandable as it takes some time to get it right). The Tammy lenses I have were spot-on on a XS/1000D I sold a while ago but, just in case...
Again,any help/hint is kindly welcomed!

PS
Just read somewhere that 50D wrongly identified a Sigma macro...does the 50D having the same issues with Tammies?...I mean,AF MA-wise,is that a problem of,say, accuracy?
