Adorable kid.
Drool coming from her mouth in #2 though?

That's the humor of it! Okay, we did doll her up, too.

Any Boston'ers interested in shooting sometime this week? I don't know many cool places to shoot and I'm wondering if someone can show me some areas besides the Commons and Gardens.

I'd be up for shooting in Boston. I know a few places but not as much a some others on this board. What were you interested in?

I know it is too late for you now, but Hunts just opened a new shop in Hanover by Target. I have not been in there yet, just saw it yesterday.

Damn, I was just at Trader Joes and REI and didn't even notice a sign when I went past. Had I been my normal fat a## self I'd have stopped in at Five Guys and seen it.

Christian.

I'll be sure to be on the look out at the downtown electronics shops (Downtown Exchange, CeX, etc)

Wow, I've never had any fear walking through Allston with my camera gear before. Maybe I'll be a little extra careful even though I've moved. I'll be sure to keep an eye out man.

Unfortunately no. It was cold, I had my hood up and was wearing my headphones. It was about 5:30ish in the morning and still dark. Got cold clocked in the side of the head from behind. When I went down my pack came halfway off. They grabbed and ran. By the time I shook off the hit I saw them turn the corner onto Brighton Ave (I was on Park Vale). I took off after them but didn't see a soul once I got to the corner.

Walked home with my head pounding and my pride hurting.

Well other than the bruise to your head and your ego a bit, glad you were able to walk away from it.

If anyone happens to see a gripped 7D, 17-55 f/2.8, tokina 11-16 f/2.8, rokinon 85 f/1.4 and/or a Manfrotto tripod (190XDB legs and 498RC2 ballhead) going for cheap around boston (pawn, consignment or craigs) please let me know. Got jumped early this morning in Allston on my way to go shoot and my pack and tripod got stolen. I have all receipts, boxes, etc so I can confirm if it is my stuff.

Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled!

EDIT - The bag is a Lowepro Slingshot 302 AW also.

Hope you had some insurance to reduce the loss . . .

Seen a doctor? Concussion can come back to bite you hard in the subsequent few days.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk..........

You file a police report or anything? That seriously blows. I lived over on Comm ave for a while years ago and never thought twice about walking around there either.

I looked on CL around the area and ebay and didn't see anything so far. Will keep my eyes peeled.

Yikes...I live right off of Comm Ave in Brighton, seems like a pretty safe area, lots of families, I wouldn't think twice about walking around with camera gear/laptop/whatever. Good luck with your renters insurance!

Police have been notified. You know the crazy thing about this area is you can't call the police department for anything?!? The switchboard tells you to hangup and call 911 even if it isn't an emergency. How messed up is that? Ended up going to the station instead of calling 911.

That's funny. They have a dedicated "Party Line" to bust college kids.

Have you tried Gov. Center/Faneuil Hall, Waterfront, North End, or Harvard Sq?

It's where the aquarium/harbor/wharf are. Nice scenic area. Faneuil Hall leads right into it.

East.

Well you've still got your humor.

That really stinks about your getting jacked... i too once got robbed at knife-point. Wasn't fun. I didn't care so much about potentially being stabbed, for me it was like, i can't replace what you were stealing from me at the time. (I had borrowed money for a friend.) Just sucked all around.

These things go away, just don't go all vigilante on us, carrying knives or anything like that. :)

Hope it all sorts out for you.
