Ron, it's a little busy; when it's small, people might not be able to tell what's going on or what it says. The gradient and outer glow isn't helping either, especially if you ever plan to print it.

Yeah I don't really plan to put it on pictures. I tried it for a few and what you said was correct. I tried to create something simple but nice looking and just can't. I'm not very good with graphic designs.

Don't know - I held a contest with 99 Designs and this was the one I chose. Simple, but I like it :)

+1 I designed my own logo (I used to be a graphic designer) 3 years ago just so I had something, but I'm totally redoing my image and I'm hiring a different graphic designer just to get another creatives take on it.

On the other hand maybe I shouldn't. Gradients, comic sans and embossing seem to be the new thing. :P

I was playing around a bit. I kinda like #3. It's certainly not pro quality. But I am kinda new to photoshop.

^ I like that.

old (square) vs. (tree) new

actually, its just a difference of the main banner I use on my website, I still use the 'square' one in the upper part of my other pages. I've just always had the square with the 'words' under it, didnt like it much I wanted more design to it for the main page 'banner'.

Looks nice on my page IMO.
