What are you using to process your photos? Some editors will strip EXIF in some or all conversions. For example, LightRoom keeps EXIF data (although I think you can turn that off) when processing RAW or JPEG, but IrfanView only keeps EXIF in JPG to JPG, it dumps the EXIF in a RAW to JPG conversion. So the problem may not actually be with Flickr.

I'm using Photoshop CS5. I open the files in Camera Raw, then do a Save for Web.

After some searching on Google, the standard Flickr strips EXIF.

I think it did, previously. Since I started my account, a few months back, it never has. I didn't go pro until about a month ago...

I should backup my stuff :(

Thanks for reminding me, backing up 7,414 photos to my external hard drive as we speak, it will be a lot quicker to upload photo's now! Ha

Is there another free photo hosting service that doesn't strip EXIF info? Preferably one that's easier to use too?

I've easily shot 2000+ photos since I've gotten the 60D. I've only uploaded maybe a dozen to Flickr.

Flickr doesn't strip exif... It just doesn't embed it into the ones it resizes.

If you post the "original" size from Flickr, EXIF will be embedded.

WOAH! It was awesome! Lots of great shots and guess what..?

The best ones are from the 60D !

I'll post them here tomorrow :)

Between Kudos, nice moon shots. Thanks for the focal length comparison!

Good to hear you are getting a well-rounded business going. :)

I know English is your second language, so let me help you out with something.

Your use of the word "Between" is very strange. I am not perfect with English myself, but I have never heard anyone use "between" like that. When someone uses "BTW" they are saying, "by the way". Hope that explains it for you! :)

Oh, and of course my usual picture drop.

You may not post often, but when you do, you drop big. That is a wall hanger for sure, please don't tell me you won't print that or else I'll print screen it and do it myself :p

By the way, thanks for the reminder ;)

haha, glad I could help.

I just lost my job at Warner Brothers recently. Cool gig, but at least I now have a good reason to start getting VERY serious with going full time photo professional. :D I just got http://www.johaneickmeyer.com/ (external link) going. Needs a ton of custom HTML and content, but I am getting it together as I go.

Next item is to start making prints and finding ways to market them to people with money. :) One of those is easy...

Sorry, I tried searching, but could find no answers.

Does anyone use this 2400mAh Opteka version of the 60D battery (external link)?

If so, how are they over prolonged use?

I am thinking of buying a spare battery for my 60D, and this came up as an alternative.

Here in India, they cost only about half the price of the Canon original.

If they are not worth it, what are the best non-Canon alternatives?

I am so glad I have esata. If not, I would go crazy with my backups taking forever.

I use a program I found a year or so ago. Previously, if I had a crash, I had to wipe and then reload from about five disks provided with the computer then reload all my programs. My files, photos etc. are kept on a separate disk so they were never lost. However, the process still took hours and lots of hair pulling. Then I found EASEUS Todo. The program allows me to create one CD/DVD and now I can restore my computer to that point, with just a click or two. It takes about a half hour but when finished there is my computer, just as it was when I did the backup with all programs loaded and functioning.

This is great for me since my computer is so old that I have to run through this process about once every six months. :)

Soooooo...i got my sigma back and i'm in love with my gear again! in the meantime, i crashed my computer and lost soooooo much. this weekend will be dedicated to wiping the disk and doing a complete reinstall. fortunately i keep a complete library of my shots on an external harddrive so i didn't lose any photos.

mozy.com They even have apps now that let you access your entire backup from a mobile device. So awesome that I have access to every picture on my ipad as long as I have a wireless connection, it's like a huge 125gb cloud drive.
