Hey guys, I read this on the first page, op:

Does this mean you have to pay for the shipping up front, then? I have just enough to cover the body and tax, but not enough to cover shipping atm if that's the case. :(

No you don't. They just charge for the body + tax

Does anyone know generally how long it takes for a refund? They received my camera on last Wednesday.

Is the 7D currently in stock? Might make the plunge this week.

Yeah, a quick check on the web should do the job. Anyway, it is in stock. LINK (external link)

To somewhat use as a gauge, if you follow the T2i timeline it was announced Feb 2010 and then added to the CLP sometime around Oct 2010.

It's usually 6-12 months. It's not the same timeframe for all bodies.

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time poster lol.

I just pulled the trigger on a 60D. Got a broken SD400 from ebay for $15 shipped.

The CSR made it super easy.

Didn't have to talk to a tech, and she didn't even ask me if the camera was broken. I just told her the model, no S/N.

Total out the door for body: $679 + 15

I am happy, now to go and buy some lenses!

Thanks to everyone on this thread

Just wanted to give an update. The rep took my phone number down incorrectly and they tried calling me the next day for "order verification." I ordered on Thursday, and they said they called Friday. Well on Monday, I hadn't heard anything so I called them and they said that they tried calling and I asked them what number they had on file, and it was incorrect. Maybe it was my fault, maybe mine. Anyway long story short, they upgraded my shipping to overnight, sent it out on Tuesday and I should be getting it today.

Moral: Make sure they have your phone number correct, just in case they need to verify. They won't use any other method of communication.

Had a similar issue where they had my email address wrong. Order went through because they didnt need to verify my order. Strange.

Anyway, my refurb 7d arrived today. It looks immaculate and via gphoto2 came with a shutter count of 203.

Pretty happy compared to the damaged 50d I received last time with a 10k shutter count.

I really wanted to try it out so I also just got a 7D through CLP and it was MINT, very impressed! Not a scratch, ding, rub mark, it was beautiful so I feel I may do it again in the near future. When I loaded my test shots I noticed the files started at 001, so does this mean it was never fired off? or do they reset at factory?

Also I called back and they re-confirmed no 5DII in the program, so why would anyone pay $1999+tax ($2138.93 for me) when you can get a brand new one for $2k-2350?!?! If it was included I would pull the trigger today ($1999 - 20% = 1599+tax = $1711) thats more my speed

Brian
