I really wanted to try it out so I also just got a 7D through CLP and it was MINT, very impressed! Not a scratch, ding, rub mark, it was beautiful so I feel I may do it again in the near future. When I loaded my test shots I noticed the files started at 001, so does this mean it was never fired off? or do they reset at factory?

Also I called back and they re-confirmed no 5DII in the program, so why would anyone pay $1999+tax ($2138.93 for me) when you can get a brand new one for $2k-2350?!?! If it was included I would pull the trigger today ($1999 - 20% = 1599+tax = $1711) thats more my speed

Brian

Congrats! I think on the first page of this thread there's a program you can use to check how many shutter actuations it has if any.

No it means you formatted the card and the camera started the count.

What that really means is that they did a manual count reset. Every body that goes through the refurbishment process ends up getting tested to some degree. Even the least-used bodies will start out with around 5+ shots on there--but canon always sets the count back to zero (not the actual actuation count, stored on main PCB).

If he simply formatted the card and canon hadn't done a manual reset, it would have started at something else, like IMG_0022.

I didn't format the card in this camera, maybe in my previous body. I'll see about checking the actuations. ty for the info guys

In Canada, authorized dealers are selling a brand new 5D MkII for $1999. ;)

Yeah, I can't wait till the refurb price on the 5D drops (or until they let it back onto the CLP)...

Yeah, even I would pull the trigger pretty much instantly and just sell my 5D stuff for a good chunk of it back. I'm not gonna hold my breath though.

Me too... I'm still holding out for one at that price (my 50D is still a great camera). Still kicking myself for not just putting one on a credit card while they were still part of the program!

Was thinking the same thing. Called today and the lady I spoke with said that it's not in the program now (like others have said) but that doesn't mean that it won't come back later and that I can just check back periodically.

Well have been testing my 7d from CLP. Everything works perfect as near as I can tell. Just got back from shipping them my trade in.

Pretty happy with the whole system.

prices are at the first post. I assume by trade he's just referring to sending back the dead camera to qualify for that pricing

This is what i dont understand: in order to get the CLP duscounted price can you trade in ANY canon product that they are accepting or must the models match? (trade broken 50d for price of refurb 50d, broken 7d for refurb 7d price, etc)
For example if i have a 50d ( just an example) would i be abld to trade that and be allowed to purchase a 5d mark ii at the clp discount? And if i have a canon point and shoot can i get dslr?

And lenses...?

You may want to read the first post on page one of this thread.......

All of the answers (and several more) are located on page one

Good luck.
