A hearty congrats to our winner Teekay, and runner-up Paintmblak. Wonderful entries all!

Jason, that's my sweatshirt you're calling creepy and weird, I want you to know. I practically wear it every day during our cold months here, all 6 of them. Granted, it is does turn a bit creepy and weird, now that you mention it, just before laundry day. Yeah...I was hoping you wouldn't notice that very slow shutter speed. Didn't help at all that I was hovering over the turned inside-out beast, standing on a creaky kitchen chair, holding my breath, stopping my heart, while squeezing off the shutter. I didn't mind blowing out the table surface as it made the face seem to float.

This topic had me a bit stymied, so I fell back on an idea I had seen Borsodi do with clothes. It's not easy shaping a sweater into a face. And it's really disappointing how difficult it is to get a particular look back once it's been fiddled with. Anyway, I had a good time and appreciate your mention.

So you wanted red, huh? Well then... how's this?!

This came as an after thought during my shoot, but I wasn't jazzed with the results.

Thanks for the win, Jason! Really liked Linda's entry and Kevan's later mod with with the red glove.

Re my own entry, after I got home from the shoot the photo looked odd. I couldn't figure out why the line of overhead lights wasn't central. If I straightened the image to make them at the top of the pipe, then the person in the shot was leaning. Or maybe it was some wide angle perspective distortion, but that didn't work either.

In the end, without going back to the pipe (a highway underpass) I concluded the lights must have been installed off centre for some reason.

New challenge will be up this afternoon (Pacific time).

[QUOTE=Jason C;13400861]Thank you all for making this a successful competition this week, with all of your eager participation. First some words, and then the winner!

kbColorado--I really like the concept, but that captured critter barely looks like a critter. At first I thought it was small twigs. Your exposure is excellent.

Thanks for a great challenge, Jason. Great image, teekay. Wonderful imagination, Kevan ... and I loved both the cat and dog pics.

I agree with your critique 100%, Jason. In wedding photography you make a killer image with the Bride so small that she just HAS to order a big enlargement ;) ... this image really needs to be large but I don't think the photo itself is good enough to warrant that. Filed it in the "almost" pile but thought it fit the theme pretty well.

thanks again and congrats to the winners !

cheers

So often these "mistakes" are done intentionally by engineers. My guess moisture drainage, so water (condensation) can't pool and collect within the light housings.

But then...what do I know?
