Here's an idea I had..
I visited my childhood home this past week... just in time, i guess, since its now boarded and set to be demolished.

So, I've tried to capture the idea of fading history, with life going on. I call it:

ANACHRONISM

Didn't read your idea, but looked at the photo and thought "Hurr, this conveys contemporary person sitting in old, faded environment". (<-- This means success, for the tired people out there).

Difference is a little big for my liking though. Tried sepia for the surroundings?

Could also crop a little on the left.

I really like it, both the idea and the shot.

Hey Jonta and Pat! thanks for the comments... was kinda spur of moment and on afterthought wished I'd had my wife take a picture that captured the house a little better...

i'm with you on the crop overall... though, it would have been nice to have the garage also in the shot to the left I think...
I did try the sepia the same day (or at least I processed it with a Vintage look).

I seemed to be floating more (more detached) in the one I originally posted so took to it a little more.

I prefer this second one. He doesn't stick out as much. It allows the eye to wander across the buildings more.
