Thanks again guys. :D

Yes, I plan on raising the prices soon. I was offering them for cheap until I got some feedback on the website.

Funny thing is that I have still yet to see a single online sale after 4,000+ views. haha  Even at stupid cheap prices.

I don't expect to make any online sales until people know who I am. It's all going to make it or break it on actual large prints in art galleries. Online sales of landscape photos is a super saturated (pun intended) market.

You might be surprised... when you raise your prices, your sales will most likely go up as well. People are odd that way.

Love a lot of the pictures, great work, but I think you need to edit your portfolio down, there's some breathtaking and inspiring images, and then some that in my personal opinion, are average, which brings the overall feel of quality down a bit.
You have very amazing work, keep it up!

Thanks for the input. Which photos do you feel are average?

I use flickr to gauge how much interest a shot gets and that determines most of what gets into my final gallery on the website. Some are more popular than others, obviously. :)

The lower-end shots will get pushed into the back of the gallery once better ones get taken in the near future.

Great, crisp work. In terms of ordering and pricing, my personal preference on my site was to not use the smugmug option but create a separate page for prices and orders. This is a judgement call, but if your serious about selling highest quality at premium prices. My reason was smugmug printers couldnt provide the large sizes in fine art quality I was after.

I do like the site. Your pictures are great. One thing you might consider in your sales attempts would be to put up a picture for lets say 6 months. If you get few or no hits, take it down and replace with something else. It is easy for us to sit here and critique but if there is one thing I have learned, no matter what the masters say, the customer is the one with the money. :) I would also make one other suggestion, consider having different galleries based on subject matter. I understand they are all shot in the northwest, but to me, having some galleries lets say "night scenes", "forest", "seascapes", etc. OR, use key words as your gallery titles. For instance, "peace", "serenity", etc. Something to set the customer's mind into an thought process so when they see a picture, they can identify with it. These are only thoughts to consider. They may or may not work. Just trying to think from a marketing standpoint.

Thanks for the input. I need to get more shots, or else I would only have several shots for each gallery. Hopefully that will be much easier to accomplish once I finally move out of the city here soon.

I am also going to add more personalization to the web site as you suggest.

Very true. I don't expect to make any money off the website, but it is a mandatory thing to have these days as a professional photographer. I am really good at marketing myself to people 1on1 and over the phone, so I expect a lot of my sales will come from getting into key art galleries.

I am actually not going to show anything smaller than 20x30. Go big or go home, right? :D

Very very well done photos. The vibrant colors and processing really pop out even in the gallery preview page.

I think once you start using smugmug more and get a feel for the customizations you can do you'll really start to see the benefit of it. I had a unique, personal page for a while and absolutely hated it. I love having smugmug and the customization options are practically limitless. If you haven't already check out their page support forum over on dgrin. Based on your drop-down menu and gallery slideshow homepage I'm guessing you've already found it but keep looking around. Also, your "Prints" page can be set up with a different template style so it's not a photo with text on it. And last, I would change your "Contact" page to not be a link to open up Outlook. Almost no one uses Outlook outside of business or work and it's an immediate turn-off to a lot of people. I would set up a page that lists your email address or phone number if you would like. When you do set up more galleries, have the slideshow link on your homepage map to the galleries page instead of the Landscapes gallery...just a helpful reminder!

Yup. I agree 100%. I am working on a contact page right now. You are right about the customization. It really is more limitless than I thought. They just make you dig for it. :D

Thanks!
